The Tsuki Saga

The Southern Tower

They followed Tsuki along the corridor. She spoke as she walked. "This castle is over nineteen hundred years old. The magic cast upon it by its original inhabitants protects the castle, although some of that magic has faded over the centuries. It is built out of the same rocks as the Pallentai tower on Mainland. My family gained possession of the castle about twelve hundred years ago. My father was the last of that true bloodline, The Lords of the Prillirna isles. He chose to marry first my mother, then my siblings' mothers. This caused only a little annoyance, as there were no princesses of the line left. A rare disease, which attacked mainly the females, was killing them all. I was fortunate. My mother's race, and therefore mine, are immune to it. My father was a scientist, and a spell weaver. He has laboratories down below the castle, which is to be the last part of the tour. We are starting here in the southern tower." The five realised that they were in a rounded room at the top of the tower. It was sparsely furnished, a few chairs and a small desk. "This was my sister, Penny's room. She died from the disease. Penny was half elf, a more beautiful elf I have never seen. Ginny is her twin. My brother saved Ginny from the disease; he kept her away until it was gone from the house. Ginny misses her sister dearly, and so she spends much time with my brother now." Tsuki gazed around the room once more, before gesturing for them to leave. They went down a tightly wound staircase, which opened out onto a landing. The landing was round, slightly wider than the room above had been. There were several doors opening from the landing, each marked with 'bedding' or 'towels'. "Ginny and Penny loved everything to be tidy." Tsuki commented, as she led them through an unmarked door, down another staircase.
